When hiring any company to work at your home or business, you should always take the time to research a few candidates and carefully vet their credentials. For example, if you are looking for a pressure washing company to clean your building, you should interview at least two or three contractors before you decide who to hire.
In this article, we’ll go over a few red flags to watch out for when looking for a reputable pressure washing company. If a business shows any of the following signs, you should hire someone else:
- The company pressure washes everything. In our experience, it’s a red flag if a pressure washing company uses pressure washing equipment on all surfaces. Pressure washing has been known to damage softer materials like roof shingles or siding, so it is not ideal for every part of your home or business. If the company does not seem to know or care about this concern, we recommend taking your business to a team that does.
- There are no testimonials. If a pressure washing company has bad online reviews, that’s a red flag, but it’s also a red flag if the company has no reviews at all, or if there are no testimonials displayed on its website. Reputable companies collect client feedback and are proud to show off positive feedback from their customers. In other words, if there are no testimonials on the website, it could be because no one had anything nice to say.
- They give you lowball offers. Lastly, it’s a red flag if a pressure washing company gives you a quote that seems too good to be true. If an estimate from one company is dramatically lower than the others, then it’s likely the company is trying to undercut their competition. Our team recommends viewing these kinds of offers with a skeptical eye, as a company trying to draw customers in with lower prices is likely cutting corners somewhere else. They are doing you a disservice by not investing in the proper tools and materials needed to get the job done correctly. Skilled labor is not cheap, and cheap labor is not skilled.
